Trip Report-  Bike Ride 2025 on Perkiomen Trail

Sunday 9/14 was a beautiful, sunny day for a bike ride. Nine NPSC members started out on the Perkiomen Trail (at mile marker 10.25) from Central Perkiomen Park (Schwenksville), headed towards Collegeville. We had water & chat breaks about every 3 miles, the first stop at the (sad) remains of the 300 year old White Oak tree that came down in a storm in April 2025. 
        When we got to the planned turn-around spot to make it a 14 mile out & back ride, four of the group decided to keep on biking towards Oaks. The turn-around group had a nice snack & water & chat break at about mile marker 3.25 and then continued back towards Schwenksville.
         The four intrepid bikers went all the way to mile marker zero which is where the Perkiomen Trail intersects with the Schuylkill River Trail in Oaks, after passing through the Lower Perkiomen Park. The 20 mile group obviously didn’t take as many (or as long) breaks, and ended up catching up with the 14 mile group when there were about 2.5 miles to go to where we started.
       A good time was had by all! Attendees were: Laura & Jeff Miller, Karen & Bill Korbul, Dave Schoneker, John DelPizzo, Antonie Tripp, Jackie Pine and Winsor Naugler.
